The article also draws attention to the letter of thanks Nuala received from US President Barack Obama for her Oil on Canvas painting "Famine Ship - Jeanie Johnston". The painting was accepted by the US Embassy in Dublin as a gift for the US President on his first official state visit to Ireland in 2011
